Lighthouse Darkened Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Lighthouse Darkened

Matthew 28: 18-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I have commanded you."

This means more than just Evangelism.
It's why our nation prospered as it did.
The Good Book flowed through our Constitution,
And today's politicians have slammed that lid.

They legislate against it's precepts,
And the morals that it presents.
Then trying to look so humble and pious,
While burning martyrs still in their tents.

This Christian nation, now just a memory,
Of hope to others on distant shores.
Even our allies somehow despise us.
The lighthouse now darkened forevermore.
