Lighting Creek Poem by John McCornack

Lighting Creek

Oil is still being pumped from the property
Ground that my ggf Robert Pascal owned
Bureaucrat said not one dime for the family
Now just a memory with losses unknowned

Now for good news that lack of riches bring
Born in Cloud Chief instead of Nichols Hills
There I learned of cows and red dirt roads
Instead of tuxedos my life was of windmills
