Like Christ Poem by rosalinda flores rosevoc

Like Christ

In his aging ways frail
Raised the Blessed Sacrament in the altar
I sang Tantum Ergo
Hail Christ the King!
Slowly, he walked on the side aisle, around
Like carrying a vessel from heaven
God's light reached me
It touched us
His feeble steps dared the troubles
Hope he brought to the faithful
In my heart, pierced the weight of his duty
A smear of water in my eyes
He is chosen
Like St. Peter, the Rock
Thoughts had to lean away
Our tough duties -
Like Christ, so be it.
Christ the King, bless us!
Hail Christ the King!
