Like Stones On A Lake Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Like Stones On A Lake

Beautiful girls who are like
Disney World
While the sirens sing like angels—
Visions of the quickest of the silver rains—
My wife is taking a bath as
I am thinking of you—
A pauper is made out of my heart—
But somehow Pinocchio's nose shrinks,
And the heroes are laughing
Between a rock and a hard place—
Where the mermaids gather
Like a sorority
Come to some quick decision after school—
The airplanes skip across the earth
Like stones on a lake,
And someone else thinks of you.
