Like The Eyes Of A Lynx Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Like The Eyes Of A Lynx

Like the eyes of a lynx
Like the fire in the eyes
Of a lion
Like a drop that be dew
Like a drug benign
That cools sleep
And heals ill
Like the cool of the water that'
Jumping
From crag to crag giddying
Beneath us and our view
Like a mine of gold
That hides beneath an inch of dust
Like Song of the Maiden
Maltese on the Roof at the Dusk
Like the figure of Venus
Now on high, now tiptoeing
On flowers and sands of the beach
What foot-prints! What beauty!
