Lil' Caesar - Poem by Paul Amrod

Lil‘ Caesar with the big cigar
Rollin' out the carpet at the fine bizarre
Got a mind so bright and a mouth so wide
You can't tread on him, better stay on his side
A decent guy with a heart so big
Jump on his back? Better get on the gig
He's no troublemaker stands for justice and peace
Better than the army or the world police!
Lil‘ Caesar says the world's gotta change
Lil‘ Caesar says it's all disarranged
and he's nasty, can't keep it boilin' inside
He's gonna flip out then it's time to hide
Lil‘ Caesar got his wings, gonna fly
and burn up the trouble for the bye and bye.
Lil‘ Caesar's been sittin' in a cage
Tryin' to control his primeval rage
You have to look out when he walks in the bar
He's got a bunch of brandy in his tiny lil' jar
If he sees some hassle and he happens to disagree
He's gonna roll up his sleeves, he won't hear any pleas
He'll clean up the mess, he ain't got hate in his heart
He's gonna roll it up, punk it up, gonna make a new start
Lil‘ Caesar says the world's gotta change
Lil‘ Caesar says it's all disarranged
and he's nasty, can't keep it boilin' inside
He's gonna flip out then it's time to hide
Lil‘ Caesar got his wings, gonna fly
and burn up the trouble for the bye and bye.
Lil‘ Caesar gonna step out tonight
Stir up some raucous when he thinks it's right
He will mix with the fine folks with their jive and their smarts
and tear down the wicked and the evil apart.
Seein' all the gangsters with their guns and their babes
Keepin' low his profile as he's countin' out the days
Got his fan club ready for the push and the shove
Callin' on his angels from the clouds up above
Shimmy shammin' groovin' with his toothpick in his mouth
Time to screw Chicago and take the gang down south
Lil‘ Caesar's on his way to the stars
Takin' Uncle Sam down to Zanzibar
Lil‘ Caesar ain't never gonna be petrified
Courageous till the end till he's satisfied.
With a troop of innocent vigilantes
Givin' all the kids delicious candies
Walkin' down the boulevard as the Pied Piper
Like the gullible fly and the tricky spider
Givin' them direction with their wide-eyed gleam
Raisin' their hopes and exiting their dream
Freeing them from their brainwash and other dandies
Showin' them how to be a bunch o' spunky daredevils
Catchin' ‘em all unaware, takin' it to another level
Lil' punks will be storming Paris' Bastille
Leavin' Antoinette with no wounds to heal
Figuratively lookin' at a republic banana
Changin' the scene with a hippy's bandana
Gotta be open and speak your mind at ease
Jumpin' to the sky on a trampoline
Keepin' all the softies swingin' on the trapeze
Waitin' for Lil' Caesar to jump on the scene
Lil‘ Caesar says the world's gotta change
Lil‘ Caesar says it's all disarranged
and he's nasty, can't keep it boilin' inside
He's gonna flip out then it's time to hide
Lil‘ Caesar got his wings, gonna fly
and burn up the trouble for the bye and bye.
