Lingering Memories Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Lingering Memories

Girls and boys in love pass by my window
The girls so shy and the boys so debonair.
I see them smile, with happy shining faces
Just as our love shone when we were young and fair.
But now our joyful yesterdays are over
Romantic music plays a melancholy song
The rhythm in my heart is slow and sadder
Altho' I love you more as lifetime lingers on.
Yes I love you even more now to heaven you
Have gone, for memories linger gently on and on.
