I never met anyone
who listens, understands,
while analyzing every word
Some hear mumbling
Some nothing but silence
While others ignored
doesn't give a rat-ass
Still, I hope in time
We all try to listen
Not only to hear but
understand
The one who hears
But doesn't listen
Often surfer the consequences
I, MYSELF, barely ever right
Nor am I always wrong,
I may never speak another word
Since nothing I ever say matters
nor even meant much
Still, I will listen to the stillness
To the voices of reason
To the yeses, and the noes
to the parents of times,
to our teachers
even our conscience
And most of all, our inner doubts
I do listen
When truth does matter
and I hear something
worthy of my time
And pay attention
To every word spoken
There are people
Who never waste an ounce of breath
only pretends to listen, and
others who don't even care
listen to the good, and
bad, listen to every word
But listen to experiences
- the essence of knowing
one never said takes every word
but at least take value in truth.
