My grandfather wasn't an educated man
He learned all he knew just by listening
He said if we listen the earth speaks to us
In the words of the earth lies all the answer we seek
He could see his words were hard for me to grasp
He continued
Suppose someone comes to you with a problem more often than not
They want you to help choose between a solution they've been contemplating
If you don't listen to them, you end up giving them a solution that you thought would work for you
Like a shepherd to a sheep we want someone to lead us to pasture
Not to force it down our throats
Now i thought i understood him
Maybe now i was listening keenly
