Listen/Watch Poem by ann byrne

Listen/Watch

Rating: 5.0

listen
i say with my eyes
as i walk towards you.

my footsteps sharply echo 'listen'

i reach out my hand and touch
your arm 'listen'
i say,
my voice still.

there are no silences between us
no empty spaces.
you fill me cell by cell
a hologram repeating
through my senses
wave on wave.

i am a shell
with a seed breaking
through me
as i disintegrate
into the earth
feeding your roots.

and you say
'Watch'
as you stretch up
and away from me.

This little moment made so startling real...such seeing is fascinating and beautiful. It is how I would like to be seen. Such seeing is a caress...such seeing is an act of loving. love Donall Donall

Keep walking because your feet are talking. Written with a quiet eloquence that is refreshing.

Very good I enjoyed the rhythm created by the use of line length and the sentiments a very romantic poem jim
