Little Boats Poem by PaulAndre Pelletier

Little Boats

Rating: 5.0

The world is an ocean and life is a boat
Often inert, content to float
And all is quiet, and all is peacefull
With little boats, staying idle

Sometimes they breath, but often they blow
All of the winds, that change the flow
From North and South, to East and West
They can blow and blow, for days no rest

With not much to steer, or to stay afloat
Ocean can be hard, for a little boat
The capricious wind, leading them astray
From their path, their chosen way

Now in the ocean, and that's a shame
Are not all, created the same
Some are simply, made better
And on the tides, they can prosper

While others and, for no reason
Are ungifted, at their creation
And all can do, on the water
Is really try, to work harder

Along the way, if a bump or bruise
Hurts a boat, it can't stop the cruise
Though some experiences, can be sad
Life on the ocean, is not that bad

Sometimes pushed toward, new boats appear
And for a while, together can steer
But sometimes they, get pulled away
When it happens, can be a sad day

But no matter how strong, no matter how fast
A little boat can, never get past
At the end of the horizon, a great waterfall
Will claim all boats, be it big or small

And all one can do, near the very end
Is choosing how, it will face the descend
Finding some comfort, that will forever stay
All the ripples, seeded on its journey
