Little Lass With Fins (Cloak And Dagger) Poem by Eli Spivakovsky

Little Lass With Fins (Cloak And Dagger)

Little
lass with fin's
stuck
on her back like a tattoo
it calls her to the
bath
it wishes to be
wet
she soups and slithers
it makes her
legs transform
it makes her
tail sprout
out it grows
harder and harder
softer and softer
she smooths where her
legs were
and untangles the
fin
it grows like a
muscle
it grows like a
tree branch
strong and fierce
then buds
little
scales
she
presses it against the wall
and she is in his arms
1000 miles away
he
looks to the sea
and
remembers their pact
how she
saved him
and gave him her scouts
and now,
in the navy
how he confuses
the boats
