Little Things Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Little Things

Little things from small beginnings.
Ruptured hamstrings.
Running miles on unpaved grounds.

Makes light work,
Branches of strings,
Loose with meanings.

Little things from small beginnings.
To go forth and become better.
Forgetting what to think of as a before or an after.

The future is straight,
With roads to take at stake.
A gamble with finding a grain of sand in a lake.

Little things from small beginnings.
Teach me to create,
Before it becomes too late.

To trust and not to be hurt.
To love and not to sacrifice,
To compromise but not in disguise.
