Live For As Long Poem by Francis Duggan

Live For As Long

Youth with anyone it does not stay
Of life you may have known of a better day
You well may have lived the most of your time span
But carry on living for as long as you can
Do for the longest lived human life in real time is brief
The body does weaken like the Autumn leaf
And fall to the earth from the branch of it's tree
The lot of the leaf is for you and for me
You have lived many Seasons the years come and go
And time once your friend has now become your foe
No point in harboring grudges for wrongs to you done
Tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone
In life old age comes to the woman and man
But live for as long as you possibly can.
