The swan looked me straight in the eye
I looked right back and said
Bless you, o creature of God!
For we have a lot to learn from you
The elegance of simple living
Just existing in the present moment
Our minds clear and uncluttered;
You constantly flap hard to stay afloat
Yet appear so calm and composed
Seemingly without a care in the world;
There is inspiration to be had from you
How to live simply and modestly
Having nothing much to worry about
And to just be
