Living, Loving And Dealing With Alzheimer’s Poem by Ted Sheridan

Living, Loving And Dealing With Alzheimer’s

Rating: 5.0

I have known my love for over fifty years;
for both richer or poorer, for better or worse
and in sickness or in health, I have stayed
faithfully by her side. I have never questioned why…
These last few years have been the hardest for us
and Father Time has not been very kind when dealing
out the cards. There have been absolutely no Royal Flushes,
one or two 3 of a kind but only 1 winning pair and yet
when I look into my Queen of Hearts lovely eyes,
I can see that it is me and my poker face she no longer recognizes
as our lives fold and God calls our hand…
