Lobal Warning Poem by Dean Meredith

Lobal Warning

So my world was about to get hard again
Note the secret word that gave me hope
It said I'd been there
Nothing left to fear
And there would be much less to lose
Such a great hope in itself
The planets had and would long after
Rotate despite my departure
Who am I to compare to thee?
A little something in the nothing
Loosely referred to as we
I met her on a Monday
She met me by the by
Her friend saw me coming
She saw me eye to eye
And in my soon departure
She offered me my soul
In the form of a humble sandwich
That asked every question
And answered with nothing to be sold
Her pale blue fishy eyes
Captured words vowed never to be told
And my limpid heart fell gesturing
For the impossibility of the possible
Before I grow too old
Her young untapped beauty
Our ugly defying mould
The honest skin keeping us
In waters destined to scold
