Lockdown Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Lockdown

Lockdown, lockdown,
God knows,
When will it open?

It's lockdown,
But there was a rime
When we used to hear

Of the hartal, chakka jaam,
Towns and cities forcibly shut,
A call given for shutdown, closure.

Bharat bandh,
Chakka jaam,
Aaj hartal hai,
But today we under Janata Curfew.

We under restricted movement,
Under self quarantine,
Refusing to mix publicly
As for the pandemic.

Maintaining social distancing,
Physical distancing
To avert and avoid
The infliction

So that it may affect us,
Infect us with the deadly virus
And its symptoms
As the times had been

Of plague, plague,
Typhoid, tuberculosis,
Cholera, malaria,
Polio, small pox

And what to say it more,
Many girl wives to die
During child delivery
As the Cesarean option had not been.
