For the majority of us mere mortals, some of the most heart wrenching times that we'll ever have to experience will occur when we are alone: thankfully, though, many of those feelings of loneliness will last for only a short period of time; and yet, we know that those feelings will most likely stay buried somewhere deep in our souls

Please excuse my ignorance, Robert. To me this reads like a paragraph of prose. What makes this a poem? Some day I hope to understand what poetry is and what it can be. All help is gratefully appreciated.
You are correct. But my way of thinking is that if the great American poet, Walt Whitman can inject prose into his collection of poems, leaves and Grass, then why can't I?

A poem with a high ethical sense, the prosaic form makes it less palatable. Thanks for the nice theme.
