Loneliness Of A Long Distance Landlady Poem by Yvonne Rautenbach

Loneliness Of A Long Distance Landlady

Rating: ★4.3

In an empty room
With a hint of musk
Her tears trail in the velvet dust
He kept good time,
She knew his name
But she was a view from a moving train.
She tried to forget
She brushed him away
Pregnant with words which
Age could not say
The waiting room (economy)
But her honeymoon heart she let for free.
Feelings still on an empty bed
Dreams sheet lightning in her head,
Breathing her lust Into his air
Removing his dust
But wishing him there.
All her signals made in vain
A lady struck by a passing train.
