Lonely Heart At Night - Poem by Sherif Monem

The night is fast approaching
The silence is filling the room

I lay down lonely with an empty soul
I hear no sigh, murmur or faint cry

Only sound is my heart beats
Dreams float around aimlessly

Like laughing ghosts haunting me
The night seems so long

Tiresome and enduring
I feel the night is lasting forever

All what I hope for is a day break
For a ray of light and sunshine

to enter the room to solace me
and comfort my soul

Topic(s) of this poem: lonely, night, soul, sunset, sunshine

the lonliness is so all consuming, but I love the hope in the end...nice piece. (Report) Reply
