Loner's Mornin' Poem by MacGregor Tagliaferro

Loner's Mornin'

I write this...

Because the voice inside me
Will not be still
I loved a woman
I gave a lot to her
I thought I learned what love was

I laughed in the lover's twilight
Now I sigh in the loner's mornin'
I hummed the lover's tune
Now I sing the loner's blues

She got under my desire
She peeled away the layers
Now she is gone
But the desire remains
