When I'm away from you
the world's not right.
Everywhere that I look
there's not enough light.
The sun escapes me.
I search for it.
I should be able to feel
its warmth a little bit.
But no, it's gone its way
to another place.
I think it's with you
shining on your face.
Why do I equate sunshine with you?
Is it because you are the flame
that ignites my soul?
Is that what I must blame?
Or is the sun on the run
because it can't stand to be
shining for someone as lonesome,
as lonesome as I can be?
