Long Distance Love Poem by Tess Rockenstire

Long Distance Love

Mesmerized by the possibility of love,
Bed of roses our escapades;
Only to discover it was love in vain.
Groping the bed, empty as a nest,
Callous of heart ache is upon this narrow – place.

Desperation is upon this head,
I searched for an answer
To heal - gain wisdom and closure.
My eyes are dry, the tears -I could not cry.
Our wall divides us; every route is a dead end.

Baby wherever you are
Let our hearts dip into madness of love,
Only God has the answer.
Closing my heart is not the way,
It will always be yours to come home too.

Would our long distance love survive?
Let the heavenly angel guide your way,
Hidden in the recesses of my heart
Is your soul to keep?
You’ll find it here alive and well.
