Long Lonely Nights Poem by C.Ann Penning

Long Lonely Nights

I've waited and waited for you to come along
Long lonely nights lost in romantic movies and songs
I sit on my sofa with bon bons and ice cream
Waiting patiently for you to step through the movie screen
I'll run to the kitchen, I simply won't care!
I'm the beautiful Ginger; you're the handsome Fred Astaire
We'll dance the night away all around the room
Me the silly girl and you the silly broom
You'll look at me with those dashing eyes
My heart will melt, left with nothing but a sigh
The song will end, so will the show
Just like that you'll have to go
I'll wait and wait for you to come along
every lonely night lost in romantic movies and songs
