Long Lost Country Nigeria Poem by Ama Alma Okigbo

Long Lost Country Nigeria

Rating: 5.0

We corrupt our kind day after day
We discriminate our kind weeks after weeks
We leave our kind to die month after month
We disgrace our country's name
From days to weeks
From months to years pass by
And our kind vanish before our eyes
So I ask you brethren
Were we the ones who danced under the moonlight
Were we the ones who helped our fellow man
Were we the ones who made an oath a pledge to our country
But now the tables have turned, and we go against our kind
Our country is fading away
I seek for our long-lost country. Nigeria
For it can still be found

We kill our kind day after day We deceive our king weeks after weeks We kidnap our kind month after month We disgrace our country's name From days to weeks From month to year pass bye.....wonderfully written, impressive.... We need to save our motherland, our country, our world with philanthropic efforts and faith
