Long Years Of Drear - Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Long years of drear
Behind a desk of dusk
But worst
The toll of life!

I saw hedgehogs
Streets without cars
Animal after animal
Walked in the streets
With humans
Not afraid
But one with one
No hoots! No cars!

Rivers did not flow
But in the night
The gardens
Then the night mysteries
Into one ball
Gather in deepening
Hours next to Dawn!
