Longing To Be Home Poem by Daniel Miltz

Longing To Be Home

O' this moment, I have now to withstand
Crawling back to my house
In a field of grassland
After being away for so long
Being touched by a prayer
Smelling the season in the air
Looking yonder side of hill
Gladdened to the homestead goodwill
Thinking of childhood memories
Sparkling through my eyes
Of a loving family
Who understood my longing to be free
