Look At Her Poem by Alyssa Ray

Look At Her

Rating: 5.0

She used to be normal
Not a care in the world
Until her mom's thoughts
Piled on her
Until her father's faith and trust
Wore out because of her
Until her sisters
Killed her 3 times over
Until her ex
Shattered her heart into bits
Look at her
They say
She's got the cuts on her arms
She keeps a smile there
To reassure everyone else
Has she considered suicide?
Of course she has
She doesn't have the heart to do that
She couldn't do that to others
Look at her
They mock
She's an emo
Others
Why does she think of them so much?
They don't deserve her love
Yet they get it
Even though
They say
Look at her
She's got the ugly little cuts on her arms
She tries to keep her head held high
And the only thing that keeps her from telling everybody
Is the thought of counsling
She's scared of the world
And she doens't ever want to hurt the last friendship she has
Look at her
They say
She says it's a cat, What a liar
She grits her teeth and smiles
Keeps that fake little smile on her face
And when she goes home
She either cuts or smokes
Both so unhealthy for her
Look at her
They say
She's losing it
She complains
About how they notice
And if they cared so much
Why didn't they turn her in?
They could've along time ago
Look at her
They say
Just look at her
This her
Is me
