Look Mama I Could Jog Poem by Lajpat Chawla

Look Mama I Could Jog

When I rescued
A pregnant stray,
From the killer squad.
I saw love
In the moist eyes of that dog.
When I saved a frog
As a Biology student,
By refusing to dissect it,
I saw love
In the gradually regained
Palpitation
Of that resurrected frog.
When I picked up
A bleeding
Uprooted tree of Neem,
And replanted it
In my yard.
I saw love
In his shaking
His head in joy.
I felt as if
He was a poet
Who wrote,
A heartwarming
Poem for me
In his daily blog.
When I picked up
An ex champion
Runner boy
On my shoulders,
Whose legs were severed
Under the rails,
And gave him,
A joyous jog.
I saw love in his eyes.
And I saw love
In his words too.
When he clapped
And exclaimed
Look mama, I could jog.
