Lajpat Chawla Poems

Will you love me when I am gone, like an old but loving song?
Will you write he was so good, he never did anything wrong.
When I am in earth below, pounds of flesh and bone below,
Like a mass left redundant, like a freezing stone, below,
...

It is the final sleep after which, no one has ever slept.
How can I go with so much left, so many promises unkempt!

Unknown hand in the dark, from my window still creeps,
...

On your door, I stand me lord
With folded hands, on knees
The pangs of sorrow cut into me
Like colony of angry bees.
...

Sometimes though, no reason though, moist are my eyes,
Gloomy and grey, with moon away, perhaps like the skies.
I am aware; no one shall come, so late and at such time,
I still await with the door open, a glass of water, and a lime.
...

Kill me if you must kill me dear,
But kill me in one stroke.
Throw me to fire straightaway,
Why show me the smoke.
...

Particle of the God thin like a pin head,
Stays ever with us from cradle to death.
Fire can't destroy, swords can't behead.
Leaves our body after we are dead.
...

How Do I Run With Broken Leg,
Make omelet with rotten egg.
Ridden to bed for years me,
Unable to stand and pee.
...

May the wildest of dreams
Which ever entered you eyes
Come true as carbon copies,
Like pictures clicked by spies.
...

My misery and your grief,
Have different spellings, different brief.
In essence they hurt and pain,
And are same,
...

A tiny star one day wished if he were big as a moon,
King of skies with a high rise may prove to be a boon.
He begged to moon and the moon agreed for the swap.
Dressed as a King, the tiny star saw other stars loudly clap.
...

I am self romantic, I love myself.
Next to the God, I love myself.
I am not so tall, five ten that is all.
Not a gym guy, with biceps small.
...

May you get more
Of the unwrapped gifts
Like hugs, smiles,
Handshakes and
...

I wish I were a bull
And lived my life to full.
When young I worked in the fields
Pulled the carts awful.
...

It were not my lips you kissed, you kissed me on my soul.
So incomplete I used to feel, I now feel full and whole.
Days with you get new engines, zoom away like rocket.
I don't need your picture, I need you, take away your locket.
...

Cessation of all miserable sighs,
No more weepy teary eyes.
Death is thy name, real surprise.
...

Reminiscent of poverty ridden days of my past.
As if a tale of life previous, time flies so fast.
Mama made ice cream without much of milk,
She added corn floor to render it so thick.
...

I am an infant Calf,
The sucker,
Of mother's milk.
I never get enough,
...

A use and throw tissue I have been,
Kissed when fresh, then left unguarded.
Like a bouquet kept for fragrance
And décor.
...

Seven colors a rainbow has,
Which one may I choose.
Red are Roses, Yellow Sunflowers,
Green are forests huge.
...

Sleep my son my ess u en,
The ghost of dusk is on round.
Like sailor’s oars, she blows and pours,
The smoke with a sound.

Will You Love Me When I Am Gone, Like An Old But Loving Song?

Will you love me when I am gone, like an old but loving song?
Will you write he was so good, he never did anything wrong.
When I am in earth below, pounds of flesh and bone below,
Like a mass left redundant, like a freezing stone, below,
Lost in a place of six by three, with no one in my tomb below.
Will you visit on a snowy night and speak to me for long,
Will you love me when I am gone, like an old but loving song?
Will you write he was so good, he never did anything wrong.

Of course, my king, I will love you as much as I loved before,
My love is not like waves of ocean, it is so stable as the shore.
Written with blood your epitaph will say “ ma king, I adore”
In box of heart your memories stay, which has a lock so strong
Will you love me when I am gone, like an old but loving song?

Will you write he was so good, he never did anything wrong.
Look for me, when it gets dark, when no one is in the park,
A bird shall sing the rainbow song weeping for the arc,
I will be with you then for a while; your eyes will get the spark.
There would be time but a few seconds, hurry up don’t prolong.
Will you love me when I am gone, like an old but loving song?
Will you write he was so good, he never did anything wrong.
