A Dialogue Between A Cow And A Butcher Poem by Lajpat Chawla

A Dialogue Between A Cow And A Butcher

Kill me if you must kill me dear,
But kill me in one stroke.
Throw me to fire straightaway,
Why show me the smoke.
It hurts me much it pains me much,
As it would to thee.
He wept so much he wailed so much,
As if you did not see.
You pulled my calf from my udder,
Made me scream and pee.
My bleeding son so cute my Hun,
You killed him you bloke.
Kill me if you must kill me dear,
But kill me in one stroke.
Throw me to fire straightaway,
Why show me the smoke.
I am so sorry my poor doll;
I never knew so much I did.
Don’t curse me thee,
Don’t cry so much, blunder though I did.
It’s a game, you oldie tame,
Next birth you will get the stroke.
Kill me if you must kill me dear,
But kill me in one stroke.
Throw me to fire straightaway,
Why show me the smoke.
Oh cruel soul, you sold my gold,
One month old.
A blond he was, ate just little grass,
What harm he did to thee.
I won’t breed, no milk, no yield,
Soon you shall be broke.
Kill me if you must kill me dear,
But kill me in one stroke
Throw me to fire straightaway,
Why show me the smoke.
