Looking Back



I thought that I was happy
before you came to me.
I thought that life was turning out
as good as good can be.

I thought I had the things I need
to make my life complete.
I had my health, I had my wealth,
and life was all up-beat.

I thought that I was happy,
everything seemed good because
I didn’t. have a worry.
And, bugger me – I was!
