Lord Buddha And The Dacoit Poem by Rohan Bendre

Lord Buddha And The Dacoit

In The Forests of Magadha there was a Dacoit named Angulimala. He would Kill People and Cut
Their Thumbs. He used to wear a Garland of their Thumbs. One Day Lord Gautama Buddha
Happened to pass by the Forest. He saw hardly any one. He saw one man Lord Gautama
Buddha Asked him

'' My Curiousity is Forcing me to Ask a Question
The Silence in the Surrounding has caught my Attention.''

The Old Man Replied

'' The Silence is But a Natural Action
For Escape from the Cruel Dacoit's Clutches Escape is only the Solution.''

The Old Man Continued

'' For the Cruel Dacoit Mercy is Rarely in his Understanding Ability
Hence to spread Terror he Uses his Violent Capability.''

The Old Man Warned Lord Gautama Buddha

'' If you happen to pass by the Forest Escape should be your Selection
Not only does he Murders People but also Cuts their Thumb.''

Lord Buddha Smiled

'' Death is but a Natural Thing Which will Happen in the Future
Instead of Escaping it Facing it Should be the Salient Feature.''

Lord Buddha Continued

'' Fear is the Quality Which he Should Possess
For Things like Conscience and Positive Thinking he hardly has Access.''

Lord Gautama Buddha Continued his Journey. Angulimala saw him and Stopped him

'' If a Secured Life happens to be your Choice Such Preferential
Submit all the Wealth you Posess to save your life it is Quintessential.''

Lord Buddha Smiled and Continued Walking. Angulimala Stopped him again

'' Am i Getting Angry by Fear's Absence
Aren't You scared by the Most Powerful Man's Presence.''

Lord Buddha Questioned Angulimala

'' Hardly am i Impressed by your Declaration
To Prove this Should I Suggest a Small Test as a Suggestion.''

Angulimala Agreed

'' Victorius will be the Word to Say
As after the Challenge the Saint will surely Pay.''

Lord Gautama Buddha said

'' Simple is your Task to Fulfill
Your Quickness in Plucking the Leaf should come in a moment as Quick as a Still.''

Angulimala Plucked the Leaf. Lord Buddha Smiled

'' The Task still remains to Complete
As with more Toughness you have to Compete.''

Lord Buddha continued

'' Your Next Mission is Similar to the which you started in the Beginning
If you are Able to join this Plucked Leaf to that tree then I Will accept your
Declaration Or Else you are nothing but a Common man in a vision.''

Angulimala Defended

'' Your Answer has not given me Satisfaction
How Can aplucked Leaf regain it's position.''

Lord Gautama Buddha Smiled

'' Somebody has Answered the Solution
If Compassion and kindness fail to be your Actions
How Can Murdering anybody your Selection.''

Lord Buddha continued

'' If Giving Anybody Life fails to be your Possibility
Then Murdering or Harming anybody can't be your right
The need urges to be kind and show your positive Capability.''

Angulimala became a Monk and Became famous by the name Ahinsak.
