Lord Help Us! - Poem by Marilyn Lott

It is so hard to get our minds around
The sadness in the world it seems
We go through our daily lives
Facing toward our hopes, our dreams.

The days go by so very quickly
We do our jobs whatever they may be
One day upon another we continue
Pray to have a little bit of tranquility.

Many of us feel pretty safe for the most part
But then one day we look around
Something catastrophic has happened like
The power of lightning when it hits the ground.

There are terrorists who kill folks’ for no reason
Just like in Paris, France, oh Lord it seems
The victims are people just like we are
Now they will never fulfill their dreams.

Hatred and evil can wipe away our trust
Things can change in the blink of our eyes
We are horrified and do not understand
At the same time the entire world cries...

LORD HELP US!

Lord help us! This is an objective portrayal of what's happening in the world today. Innocent people are being killed today. What for? Elected governments are being subverted and peace loving people are being killed. Situation calls for solid remedy. Very well articulated poem. Thanks.
