Losing Battles And Hearts Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

Losing Battles And Hearts

Your relentless pride so hard to hide
You defy us by wearing it on your sleeve.
But here's news for you!
Listen to the truth:
We don't care, you are wrong, please leave.

I'll keep it safe if you'll only keep faith
That he wont hurt you like her.
I see in his eyes:
A change- love now, not lies.
Truly, with him your heart will be cared for.

He speaks to me, lustful longing fire
Erupts in my heart, I can barely breathe.
But I know pain is the only
Hand that will hold me
And this loneliness is a bullet to receive.
