Losing My Rhyme Poem by Dean Meredith

Losing My Rhyme

Rating: 5.0

A sense of humour
What rhymes with that?
Cancer!
A dignified death
What rhymes with that?
Blow-job!
Worthless wasted life
What rhymes with that?
Harlots and trouble
That’s what!
And then …
How about whores in heaven?
What of them?
Well about beating them
Are you referring to violence?
No I’m talking about
Getting there first
Oh!
It’s not a race you know
Then why is it called
The human race
I don’t know
But you’re educated
You’re supposed to know
Everything!
What I do know is
I’ve lost my rhyme
And my reason
Damn you!
Now where was I?
Who was I?
Another time!
Oh yes – heaven
What rhymes with that?
Stale bread or
A crooked number
Take your pick
I’ll have the latter please
Numerology you know
Indeed …
And then …
What rhymes with boredom?
Nothing!
