As I sit and stare at my wall,
I begin to recall,
The day that it all happened,
The day that she decided her life to end
Her parents named her Cara,
Which means friend,
And thats exactly what she was, A friend to the end
She was such a loving little girl,
She wanted so much to save the world
She was sent from above
And she was filled with so much love
She was heaven sent,
She was innocent,
And yet the world had her slayed
She may be dead, but her love has stayed,
And will always be here with you and me
Even thru death she is helping the blind to see,
Helping us to see the light
Helping us to win this fight
God Bless all the little girls,
Who care so much to help the world
Dear Cara, I think you're onto something (and I'm glad you're still alive!) . Life is nothing but a continuing series of deaths and rebirths. Our identities are always wearing out and dying. For a time it can feel as though there's no 'new birth' awaiting, or there can be a time 'between', a kind of vacuum, but the new birth comes. That's the rhythm of the universe, Spring out of Winter. Whether one is 'Christian' or not, Jesus' story is one of life, death, and resurrection or rebirth. The new is constantly coming out of the old, Cara, please don't give up. And it's good that you appreciate what Cara has done in her life. God sees, too!
Thats such a strong and heartfelt poem, cara, keep up the good work, you are my inspiration. LOL
