Lost Poem by Hillary Unknown

Lost

Lost
I see you here
I see you there
I see you everywhere
I look
It’s never really you
There’s only a few
it makes it difficult to do
What’s expected of me
When you always appear
I hide in sadness and fear
Because I can feel the tears
That start to flow
I feel so dumb
When I find out the outcome
I try to become numb
But it doesn’t work
I felt deflated
As my heart and head debated
Each time it came belated
And mute
You’re gone
As it dawns
That I’m like a baby fawn
Wobbly and unsteady on my feet
Without you I have nothing firm
It’s like a germ
There are no terms
And I’m lost
