Lost Poem by Ricky Lewis

Lost

Sleeping sane, sleeping so mundane
Dreaming of a world without disdain
Clutching to my heart, praying for you
Drifting to slumber, envision life anew
If this moment would last forever,
I’d share it with you

I can’t go on, cold and alone, silently
What may I see when you touch me gently?
Life is so bright, the tears gone, the sun in the sky,
The world’s all better now that it’s you and I

Sometimes I’m going to see what it’s all about
Now that I have you, I couldn’t live without
Could you look me in the eyes, remind me so
But don’t ever leave these arms, please don’t go

Will I ever see that pain again, the pain I had too long
If I grip your body and hold you close, you’d hear this song
My heart sings out for your love, please don’t forget
You’re the last shining beacon in this world of regret

I can’t go on, cold and alone, silently
What may I see when you touch me gently?
Life is so bright, the tears gone, the sun in the sky,
The world’s all better now that it’s you and I

Sometimes I’m going to see what it’s all about
Now that I have you, I couldn’t live without
Could you look me in the eyes, remind me so
But don’t ever leave these arms, please don’t go
