Lost - Poem by Amanda Eckols

I’ve lost what’s dearest to my heart
So scared I don’t recall when
Broken dreams lay scattered round
Reflecting light and beams
Still their sharp edges
Like daggers do cut
A pain that never ends
Slivers embedded in my hands
So foolish to reach out
Chunks remain in my heart
If there even one left
Agony elopes me
Becomes my bestest friend
For I’ve lost what’s dearest to my heart
And I cant recall what it is
