Lost Identity Poem by Ifeoluwa Philips

Lost Identity

Rating: 3.0

My home lives in me,
All I have all but lost my me
Musical concerto telegraphing the air
With distuned note of home calls that filled my ear

I lost my colour of identity
In fine musical note lost my life entity
I love to play on six strings
Instead I was forcefully given to play on four strings

In a concert of 3/4 bar note
Hailing me to play a sadden classical note
I was coaxed to solo on tears
Even my musical note couldn't hide my lost tears

I've been called among the gallant whale
Sailing in confusion towards the blue whale
Crafting my tears for an advert of lost
Scrapping my soul for an identity lust

I have skillfully played your note
While in tears I'm sending my voice note
My home I lost in confusion
And fencing the barrier of making a right decision

In live music, I lost my identity
In rightness home, I can't traced my identity
Who will lead me home?
Tell my broken tears to Mama when you get home...
