Lost Love Poem by Matt Fleming

Lost Love

Out in my daddy's car
With my girl to the right
Up ahead a car was stalled
The engine was dead
I swerved to the left
The sounds that night running through my head
The busting glass, the screeching tire,
The painful scream that I heard last
Something warm running through my eyes
There were people all around
As I found my love that night
I lifted her head, she smiled and said
Hold me darling for a little while
Even though I held her tight
I lost the love of my life that night
