“lost Path Home”. Poem by ANJALI KAKATI

“lost Path Home”.

When you
Showed me the rainbow
For the first time,
I wished for a ladder
So,
I could reach up the clouds
Catch the rainbow,
And color my dreams
All red, blue, green and yellow.
You never brought me a ladder
I could never reach the clouds,
Catch the rainbow
And my dreams were never colored
Red, blue, green and yellow.

When I began the long walk
I wished for a hand
Which could hold mine
And steady me when I stumbled.
Caresses the bruises
When I fell.
The hand never appeared
I kept on stumbling,
Falling
And my bruises remained unattended for.
Ever hurting
Ever bleeding.

Today when
I feel all missing and lost
In this vast confusion
Called “life”.
I keep searching among strangers
A familiar pair of eyes
Who would lead me
To where I belong.
Those eyes never appeared
I am still lost
Still searching
For the
“Lost path home”.

I wish daddy
You should not have
Shown me the rainbow
So beautiful and colorful lot.

One true poem in sense of imagination and justified in expressing the emotions.
