Lost Spirit Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Too many people have forgotten the reason,
That we should celebrate this season.
It's supposed to be a time of peace on Earth,
And to rejoice and remember a holy birth.

It was a season of giving and sharing,
But so many have just stopped caring.
It seems there's so much violence and greed,
Because there's a book they forget to read.

It's hard to keep our family values,
When the world is so full of bad news.
With all of this evil around I must admit,
I can see why we lost our Christmas spirit.
