Lost The Battle Poem by shylesh Patwardhan

Lost The Battle

Rating: 4.5

Lost the battle

When the voice turned hoarse
and the hands trembled
the doc shook his head
i said we will fight the battle

when the medicines were loaded
too many prayers surrounded
still the hands trembled
i said we will fight the battle

The dreaded disease called cancer
i know we don`t have the answer
the doctor said no chance
i said we will fight the battle

when the disease conquered the body
the gods and doctors were nobody
he closed the eyes for the last time
all that i could say was, rest in peace dad, we lost the battle
