Loud Silence Poem by Kaitlin Schmidt

Loud Silence

Rating: 3.5

Silence says more than just the stillness of the world,
But all the things you fear the most.
All the things you don't want to believe,
But continue to believe anyway.
The layers of your mind slowly peel away
One by one until you think there is nothing left.
All of the layers surround you as you try to find
Yourself lost in an unfamiliar place.
A place where no light is found,
Just engulfed in complete darkness.
You look for a way out, but there is no way to go
For you have lost your sense of direction.
You have no where to go, no place to see,
No one to comfort you, not even yourself.
