Love Poem by Hannington Mumo

Love

Liar and fraudster who’s stolen hearts and empires;
Ogre that has strangled for blood hopeless innocents;
Vanity’s best ally and an illusion that never expires,
Earnest killer and destroyer of reason and sense.

Leaven that robs bread its prized freshness,
Offspring of cursed lusts perhaps born of lucifer;
Vainglorious imaginings of a heaven-chased goddess;
Evening ruings of a wounded and worn-out survivor!
