Love Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Love

In realms where love's true essence lies,
Not found in fleeting, selfish guise,
A treasure rare, a bond divine,
That bears all things, with grace benign.

It harbors faith, with steadfast might,
Believing all, in purest light,
With hope unyielding, dreams take flight,
Enduring trials, in love's own right.

Love's gentle touch, a soothing balm,
It harms not others, causing no harm,
For in this love, the law's fulfilled,
A symphony of hearts, forever thrilled.

In darkness deep, where evil lurks,
Love finds no joy, its spirit irks,
But truth's embrace, it does adore,
Rejoicing in its radiant core.

A shield it forms, a fortress strong,
Protecting hearts from harm and wrong,
With trust unwavering, it remains,
A constant beacon, through life's domains.

Hope's eternal flame, forever bright,
Dispels the shadows, piercing the night,
In love's embrace, it finds its way,
A guiding light, come what may.

Through trials fierce, it perseveres,
Unconquered by life's anxious fears,
With steadfast strength, it stands the test,
A love that triumphs, truly blessed.

For love, my friend, shall never fail,
Its power boundless, beyond the pale,
A gift divine, from heavens above,
A testament to God's eternal love.
