Love Poem by Trevor McLeod

Love

Rating: 5.0

Love

Life’s greatest gift
Life’s greatest curse
Life’s greatest mystery

Love so simple a word
So great a burden
It brings joy
It brings pain

Rebuilds hearts
Destroys lives
Yet everyone claims
That love runs all
I say love destroys all

Love healed my heart
Love broke my heart
Love is slowly killing me
Love is drowning me

To either suffer this curse
Or be free of this curse
What to think
What to choose

I thought love would be wonderful
I thought love is so wonderful
But now I am not so sure
Love is killing me
Love is drowning me

To be blinded by love
Only to be told how to be
Told how I am supposed to be
By someone else

So many choices
So many decisions
So many consequences

To love
Or not to love
To be free
Or to surrender
And be bound
By so called love
